Bicentennial Park

Bicentennial Park is a diverse natural asset combining the Badu Mangroves wetlands on Homebush Bay with 40 hectares of beautiful parklands in Sydney featuring gentle hills, lakeside meadows and soothing green vistas. This Sydney park features playgrounds, picnic shelters, BBQ, toilets and several car parks. It’s open every day of the year, sunrise to sunset.

Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway

The Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway is a living memorial and a principal site of commemoration honouring all those who fought for Australia during World War II. A principal focus is on the sacrifices made during key Papua New Guinea battles which took place in 1942-43 along the Kokoda Track, at Milne Bay on the south-eastern tip of Papua, and at Buna, Gona, and Sanananda on the northern coastline.

The Walkway covers more than 800 metres from Rhodes Station to Concord Hospital in Sydney’s inner-west, and runs along the mangrove-studded shores of Brays Bay on the Parramatta River.

Brickpit Ring Walk

Take the award-winning Ring Walk around the Brickpit’pond’ to discover its history and the evolution of the Green and Golden Bell Frog’s habitat. From the soaring circular walkway (18.5 metres high), you get a bird’s-eye view without disturbing the tiny residents. As you walk the 550-metre ring, listen to soundscapes of frog and bird calls, and hear the voices of pit workers recounting their experiences as they helped make the millions of clay bricks used to build Sydney. Newington Armory 

Newington Armory is a special place; formerly the Royal Australian Naval Armament Depot (RANAD), it features over 100 heritage buildings of various ages and types, set amidst a 52 hectare riverside landscape of undulating hills and woodlands. The heritage buildings provide the Armory with a unique character, which is described through an award-winning heritage interpretation program that can be viewed at the original 1897 gate house.
